Frequently Asked Questions and Answers
Some types of intraocular lenses (IOL):
Monofocal. They perform one task — they provide clarity of vision when looking into the distance or up close. These are budget and affordable models.
Multifocals. They have a more complex structure and provide clear vision at any distance.
Toric. Such lenses can not only restore vision and eliminate the effects of cataracts, but also get rid of astigmatism.
IOL with Extended Depth of focus (EDOF). They have a smooth transition between foci, which reduces the amount of interference and defects in the dark.
IOL with a "yellow" filter. They help protect the structures of the eye from the negative effects of UV rays. These are modern models with yellow pigment for additional protection of the cornea.
The type of IOL is selected for the patient, taking into account the results of exam.

The service life of intraocular lenses (IOL) is unlimited. If the optical structures have not been artificially damaged, then they do not need to be replaced throughout their lives. However, sometimes it is necessary to take into account the individual characteristics of the patient.
In the absence of contraindications and sufficient surgical experience, lens replacement surgery is safe. In modern practice, the
method of phacoemulsification followed by IOL implantation is widely used.

The exact duration depends on the individual characteristics of the patient.
IOL does not have an expiration date, it is usually set for life. However, if there is a need for replacement, then it should/can be done.
Depending on how the recovery will take place, the ophthalmologist will tell you when it will be possible to start going to the pool, doing exercises, etc. If you have any questions, please contact your attending specialist, because each person has physiological characteristics, so rehabilitation proceeds in different ways.
Rub your eyes, put pressure on them.
Sleep on your stomach and on the side of the operated eye for about 10 days after phacoemulsification.
Move your head sharply, bend over.
During the first month, visit the sauna.
Lift objects weighing more than 4 kg in the first month.

Intra-articular injection is a procedure in which a drug is injected directly into the joint cavity to reduce pain and inflammation.
Intra-articular injections are most often used to treat knee, hip and shoulder joints.
Hyaluronic acid and its combinations are most often used.
The course of injections and the interval between them are determined by the doctor.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural component of synovial fluid responsible for lubrication of the joint and protection of cartilage. Intraarticular injections of hyaluronic acid restore the volume and viscosity of synovial fluid, which reduces pain and improves joint mobility.
It is recommended to avoid physical exertion on the joint for several days after the procedure, as well as follow the doctor's recommendations for the care of the injection site.
Some patients experience slight pain during the injection, but local anesthesia is usually used to reduce discomfort.
